If you will be studying while abroad, our policies will normally cover you if you are taking part in academic (classroom or online) learning, for example a foreign language course. We'll only be able to provide cover if we can cover all elements of your course. If your course includes industry placement, you'll also need to ensure we cover that under Work & Charity.
The information below provides a list of study types covered under our backpacker policies either as standard or for an additional premium (this page is not applicable to single trip or annual multi-trip policies). It also outlines study types we don't cover, if your study type isn't covered in this list it is not covered.

If your course isn't purely classroom or online learning then we'll consider it vocational learning, so long as the course doesn't include course elements stating 'No Cover' above, please contact us with an overview of the course you're looking to take so we can let you know if we can provide cover.
